This project included facade renovations and gallery improvements for an arts college. The renovations were undertaken to provide a new image and a clear identity for the school. The design solution included re-sheathing the pedestrian level of the building in a clean metal skin and large amounts of glass to open the gallery space up to the street. The facade was punctuated with sun screens and an entry canopy to give more dimension and strong shadow lines during the day-time hours. The facade was then bathed with colorful and playful lights for night-time displays. The interaction between selected building materials and light were most important in the development of the design.  This project has been widely publicized and was featured in the Chronicle of Higher Education, in a special issue on Campus Architecture.
